Frequently Asked Questions

What is Good Life Tribe?

Good Life Tribe is a small-group tour operator based in the ACT. We bring local explorers together through shared travel, offering small-group day trips, extended tours, and customised retreats designed to foster connection and authentic experiences.

How do I book a trip or tour?

You can explore our upcoming tours on the Tours page and follow the prompts to secure your spot. You can book as many tickets as there are available places on the tour, which is usually 11 seats.

For custom group itineraries or retreat bookings, see our special form on the Custom Tours page that will help us identify what kind of tour we could offer you (off-the-shelf itineraries or a custom build).

If you want to book the whole bus - up to 11 seats - (a.k.a. BYO Tribe) and you’d like to propose an alternative date to an advertised tour, use the Custom form, send us a message via our Contact page or call us directly at 1800 225 355.

What types of trips do you offer?

We offer three main types of travel experiences:

  • Daytrips Single-day outings exploring regional highlights, nature, and cultural experiences.

  • Extended tours Multi-day journeys to off-the-beaten-path destinations across Australia.

  • Customised retreats & group trips Tailored itineraries for private groups, families, or corporate teams.

Can I bring my own group or request a custom itinerary?

Yes! This is what Good Life Tribe does best, and we call it a ‘BYO Tribe’. If you have a group of friends, family, or a hobby group, you can either book all the seats on an advertised tour, or give us some input and we’ll design one just for you on a date that suits.

We have ready-made tours you could choose from, or we can start from scratch - it’s not a difficult process, and we’ll handle all the logistics, transportation, and planning.

We can also develop a series of tours for your BYO Tribe, such as a monthly Friday daytrip or a 6-monthly retreat.

You can choose from daytrips, extended tours, retreats, evening events out of town (or all around town), and we can even deliver you and your Tribe to a special event and bring you home again.

Fill out our form on the Custom Tours page.

What level of fitness or mobility is required?

Our trips vary in activity level depending on the destination. Each tour listing includes details on mobility and walking requirements. We ask you to pay special attention to these notes before booking a tour.

Please get in touch first if you are not sure, so we can make sure to find a trip that’s right for you.

Vehicle and equipment capacity Our vehicles have limited space and safe securement points for mobility equipment. We can accommodate a maximum of 2 walkers per tour, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis according to when the equipment needed is confirmed at booking. Traveller seating is accessed via steps, with a grab rail.

We are currently unable to accommodate electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters, due to the weight, size and vehicle securement requirements involved. This is a genuine limitation of our current vehicle, not a reflection of who can travel with us. Please tell us about any mobility equipment when you book, so we can confirm whether we're able to accommodate it before your booking is finalised.

We may be able to put extra assistance in place for you, to address particular accessibility needs. We will make reasonable adjustments as part of our standard service if we can, however we may need to allocate extra resources to help you participate (we’ll discuss any additional costs).

Please refer to our Terms & Conditions for further information.

Where do tour departures and pickups take place?

We usually offer a number of common pick up points. Departure locations depend on the specific itinerary, and details regarding pickup points around Canberra will be provided upon booking confirmation.

If you have special needs for pick up and drop off, please ask.

What is your cancellation and refund policy?

We understand that plans can change.

Cancellations made 30 days or more before your tour commencement date receive a full refund (less any non-refundable deposit explicitly noted at booking).

For cancellations made within 30 days, payments are non-refundable and remaining payment plan instalments remain due, as supplier costs have already been committed.

However, if you face a genuine medical or personal emergency, please contact us right away - we will always look for flexible solutions like a credit or transfer.

If we need to cancel a tour for any reason, you will always be offered a full refund or date transfer.

Please refer to Section 3 of our Terms and Conditions for full details.

Can my participation in a tour be charged to my My Aged Care package?

While Good Life Tribe is not a directly registered My Aged Care provider, we can deliver services as an associated provider / subcontractor in partnership with your existing registered provider under the Support at Home program.

If you would like to use your package funding, simply speak with your provider or case manager and put them in touch with us (info@goodlifetribe.com.au or 1800 225 355). We will coordinate directly with them to set up a service agreement.

Please be aware that some elements of our tours may not be eligible for funding (for example, food purchased at a cafe, or entry fees to an entertainment venue), in which case a personal co-contribution would be required.

Other aspects may be eligible for funding, such as transport, facilitated group activities, and being accompanied to participate in social activities.

Where operational resources allow, we can provide companion or support worker staff to help you participate in a tour or retreat.

Why is there no option to pay by instalments on some tours?

Where it’s operationally possible for us to allow payment by instalments, we pass this option on to you for your convenience. However, some of the tour activities require us to pay up front before we can lock in a date to visit - in which case, we will usually ask you to pay in full. This is often the case with fine dining activities, accommodation, tickets to performances, or activities run by third-party small businesses. Thank you for your understanding.
